A broad view of what is happening across the country can be translated into action, allowing us to collectively change the system and the public narrative. 


Colorado: Woman charged in Colorado Springs prostitution ring set for trial; she claimed to be a ‘life coach’ – A woman accused of running a prostitution ring has rejected a plea deal and intends to go to trial. It is unclear if the case involved sex trafficking.

Kansas: KCK Police Department to review over 150 cases investigated by former detective accused of sex trafficking – The Kansas City, Kansas Police Department is reviewing over 150 cases that former detective Roger Golubski completed due to charges that he sex trafficked minor victims and protected other sex traffickers. Golubski also sexually assaulted multiple women and “kept-tabs” on them.

Louisiana: Sixth person arrested in human trafficking network – A sixth person has been arrested in relation to a sex trafficking ring where minors were supplied methamphetamines and fentanyl, then offered for commercial sex while they were unconscious. 

New Jersey: Monmouth County Man Charged With Promoting Prostitution Of A Child, Endangering Welfare Of Child, Hindering Apprehension, Narcotics Offences, Criminal Sexual Contact And Obstruction – A 41-year-old man has been arrested for sex-trafficking a 17-year-old victim out of a hotel. When police came to investigate a tip, he denied knowing where she was, only for police to find her in the room moments later. The trafficker had thrown away the victim’s cell phone in another town.

Nevada:Woman arrested for 7 felonies in Las Vegas sex trafficking operation – A sex trafficker has been arrested and charged with 7 felonies two years after the IMB she owned was raided, and multiple sex trafficking victims from across the country were located on the premises

Michigan: Police say a 38-year-old Comstock Park man befriended a 16-year-old girl and began trafficking her online. – A 38-year-old man has been arrested for sex trafficking a 16-year-old girl who he met and groomed online. He was stopped by police and she was located hiding under a blanket in the backseat his car.

Tennessee: Three Persons Arrested by the MNPD in Sex Trafficking Case Now Federally Indicted – Three people have been arrested for operating a drug and sex trafficking ring out of a home and multiple businesses. At least three victims were located on the premises, though police say there are likely dozens of victims and this ring has existed for years.  

Texas: Woman charged with six counts of human trafficking, forced migrants into manual labor – A woman has been arrested for labor trafficking six Venezuelan migrants, paying them “slave wages” for long hours of heavy labor.

Washington: Man accused of vicious sex trafficking pleads not guilty – A sex trafficker who was arrested after one of his victims fled from him by jumping out of a third story window has pled not guilty. 



California: Man found guilty of selling drugs to minors, luring them into sex trafficking – A man has been found guilty of three counts of sex trafficking, production of CSAM, and a number of other offenses. He sold drugs to and the sex trafficked minor victims, using the drugs as a means of control. He was already convicted of sex trafficking in Orange Country and sentenced to 8 years but was released on post release community supervision. He faces up to 33 years in prison if convicted.

Florida: North Lauderdale man, aka ‘Slime,’ gets 30 years for prostituting minor girls – A 26-year-old man has been sentenced to 30 years for sex trafficking three victims, ages 14, 15 and 17. He targeted runaway teens, offering them a place to stay and then forcing them into commercial sex. 

Georgia: Two sentenced for their roles in murder of man who blew the whistle on an illegal labor conspiracy – Two labor traffickers who helped arrange the murder of whistleblower Eliud Montoya have been sentenced to 48 and 20 years in prison and were ordered to pay $1,329,412.80 to the victim’s family. Eliud Montoya was working with authorities to bring down a labor trafficking operation at his employer, Wolf Tree, when he was murdered. He filed an EEOC complaint that the ring had skimmed millions of dollars from undocumented workers hired for a tree care company. The traffickers routed the workers’ paychecks through their bank accounts and took more than $3.5 million from over 100 workers.

New York: Two men plead guilty to sex trafficking underage girls at Long Island City hotel: DA – Two men have pled guilty to sex trafficking a 13-year-old, a 14-year-old, and a 15-year-old victim in Queens. Both men are expected to be sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Virginia: Virginia man caught in attempted sex trafficking of a minor police sting – A Virginia man has been sentenced to life in prison for attempting to buy sex from a minor through “the man he believed to be trafficking his own underage daughter,” who was actually an undercover officer. He had a long history of sexual offenses, was arrested with a large amount of CSAM, and victims were identified through CSAM he had created.

Wisconsin: Milwaukee gang member sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for sex trafficking –  A 31-year-old has been sentenced to 20 years for sex trafficking an adult and minor victim. He was a member of “Everything Business,” an offshoot of the Chicago-based Black P. Stone Nation.



New Jersey: 8 Nabbed In Trenton Prostitution Bust – Trenton Police Department arrested eight men for attempting to buy commercial sex.

Michigan: U.P. man nabbed in undercover human trafficking sting – A man has been arrested for attempting to buy commercial sex from a 15-year-old via Snapchat.

Missouri: Police: 11 charged after undercover sex trafficking sting in St. Charles – Police arrested 11 men for attempting to buy sex in Missouri.

Pennsylvania: Lititz Sex Offender Nabbed by Human Trafficking Task Force Pleads Guilty, Sentenced to 4-8 Years In Prison – A man with a history of sexual crimes was sentenced to 4 to 8 years in prison for attempting to buy sex from an undercover agent posing as a 12-year-old girl, he was already under investigation for having a similar conversation with an undercover agent posing as an 11-year-old girl.

Utah: 2 men arrested for allegedly enticing minors online and by text – Two men were arrested for attempting to buy commercial sex with a 13-year-old girl.



US/Dominican Republic: Citing ‘forced labor’, Dominican sugar company banned from importing to US– One of the largest sugar producers in the world has been banned for import into the US due to years of disturbing evidence of labor trafficking of mostly Haitian workers. 

Illinois: Illinois Passes Workers’ Rights Amendment –  Illinois has enshrined collective organizing into its state constitution, banning “right to work” policies and potentially changing the definition of an employer in the state.

Georgia: PHOTOS: 14 charged in prostitution sting in Coweta County – Fourteen people were arrested in a prostitution sting, and multiple people were charged with selling commercial sex. Their names and images were released to the public.

New Jersey: NJ Go-Go Bar Workers Busted For Prostitution, Selling Coke To Guests — AGAIN: Police – Multiple women were arrested for prostitution and selling drugs; there is no indication that this was investigated as a potential human trafficking operation. Similar arrests and charges at the same address were made a year prior.

North Carolina: Two arrested in Charlotte, indicted on federal sex trafficking charges involving 15-year-old – A pair of adults have been arrested for sex trafficking a 15-year-old. However, the 31-year-old woman who has been charged has stated she was sex trafficked by the 32-year-old male defendant and is likely a sex trafficking victim.



US: Key Issues Emerge Around Hotels’ Liability For Sex-Trafficking – A discussion of the legal liability for hotels who aid sex traffickers.

Canada: Cops posing as underage sex workers not entrapment, Supreme Court rules unanimously – The Canadian Supreme Court has ruled that police posing as child sex trafficking victims is not entrapment, clearing the way for more enforcement in Canada. 

Colorado: Parolee with history of violent assault now charged with murder of Colorado Springs woman – A violent buyer with a long history of domestic violence and sex crimes has been arrested for raping and murdering a woman 19 months after being released on parole. He was released after serving seven years in prison for raping and nearly bludgeoning a woman to death at a Colorado Springs massage parlor. He had completed a sex-offender treatment program, and the parole board found him to be at “very low risk of reoffending.” He left his job after making inappropriate comments to a 17-year-old girl and had a series of other red-flag behaviors but was not re-arrested.

Florida: Innocence Sold: Florida hotels have stacked up thousands of violations of a 2019 sex-trafficking law. But not one has been fined. –  The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation has not issued a single fine to Florida hotels despite thousands of violations of a law intended to help protect human trafficking victims from being abused at hotels. 

Maryland: Fact check: False claim tainted ice cream used to disorient human trafficking targets – A social media post claiming that traffickers had used tainted ice cream bars to attempt to abduct young victims has been debunked. Police have received no reports of this occurring.

New York: Jeffrey Epstein accusers sue big banks for enabling and profiting from sex trafficking – Victims of Jeffrey Epstein are suing multiple banks, saying they profited directly from their sex trafficking.
